Six Murderous Beliefs
This safety film uses dramatized scenarios and animation to debunk common misconceptions that lead to accidents. It opens at a football stadium with crowds and players, then shows men in suits talking and an airplane and military jet flying and landing. A uniformed man addresses a seated group, and various people, including women in a clothing store and a woman descending stairs who laughs and covers her face, appear in everyday settings. An animated skeletal figure recurs throughout, standing in lines, leaning over a pool table, and gesturing while speaking, personifying death or danger. A woodworking instructor demonstrates a table saw, rotating a wooden plank and pointing to its guide as a student watches. Domestic hazard scenes include a man washing dishes, a distressed woman clutching her face while men lean in, and chemists manipulating glass equipment. A family watches television, cars travel a busy highway, and a train pulls into a station. A poolside sequence features a woman in a white swimsuit talking, walking, and jumping off a pool table before a man dives in. Reckless driving is dramatized with a speedometer needle climbing rapidly, hands gripping a steering wheel, and cars speeding, capped by a large grey X appearing over cartoon illustrations to mark the dangerous beliefs.
