A travelogue documenting transportation and commerce across Latin America. Opening vignettes show a woman in tall grass, a man carrying a large wheel on his back, a person crossing a narrow cliff bridge, and a laborer working on a wall, intercut with animated line graphs comparing the United States and Mexico. Extensive dock and shipping activity dominates: men load cargo into wooden boats, workers move crates and burlap sacks, and cranes lift bundled sacks onto ships that sail across choppy water, with a map of South America tracing routes. Urban scenes show busy city streets with pedestrians, trolleybuses passing an obelisk, and motorcycles at intersections. Agriculture and industry feature herds of cattle, sugar cane harvesting, steam locomotives pulling sugar cars, molten metal poured into molds, and workers loading a locomotive in a rail yard as crowds wave. The film follows rail journeys through tunnels and snow-covered mountain passes where workers shovel deep snow, road-building with graders and trucks hauling rock, and bus travel over stone bridges and winding mountain roads. It concludes with aviation - a twin-engine plane flying over mountains, forests, and a drilling site, passengers boarding with children, ground crew servicing the aircraft, and takeoffs and landings - before a 'THE END' title.
