1780s: Restaurant. Friends speak at table.
United States 1780s: Two men in powdered wigs and formal coats sit at a restaurant table cluttered with glasses, decanters, and dishes, engaged in animated conversation. Around them, other well-dressed patrons and a waiter move through the dining room, with a floral arrangement and framed painting decorating the background. The men lean toward each other, gesturing and smiling as they talk, in a scene styled to evoke the late 18th century.
